The Challenge
The homeowners wanted both an elevated deck off the kitchen and a ground-level patio for the lower yard — but they couldn't find a contractor who would do both seamlessly. Most deck builders refused to touch hardscape, and most patio builders wouldn't build elevated structures.
Our Approach
Victor designed a unified two-level entertaining system: a Trex composite deck with cable railing extending from the kitchen door, with wide stairs featuring LED riser lighting that lead down to the Belgard paver patio. The outdoor kitchen sits under the pergola at patio level, creating a natural flow between the two zones.
The Outcome
The multi-level design turned two separate outdoor areas into one cohesive entertaining space. The homeowners now host dinners on the deck and move down to the kitchen and patio for after-dinner drinks. The retractable pergola shade makes the kitchen usable even on hot summer afternoons.
